Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Simply Algos LLC, operating under the brand Simply Play Labs (“Simply Play Labs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, shares and protects information in connection with our mobile apps and our websites (together, the “Services”). We are the data controller of the personal information described here.
It applies to the apps and websites we publish under the Simply Play Labs brand. Our baby-name apps are covered by their own privacy policies on their own websites and are not governed by this document.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Support requests. If you contact us through an app or one of our websites, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Optional sign-in. Some of our apps let you sign in with Google or Apple to save progress or use features such as leaderboards. If you do, we receive a basic account identifier from that provider. Sign-in is optional, and those apps work without an account.
Information stored on your device
Most of what our apps create stays on your device and is not sent to us. This includes things like your settings and progress, and, in some of our apps, more personal content such as records or documents you choose to create. This data is under your control and is removed when you delete it or uninstall the app.
Information collected automatically
Today, our apps and websites collect little to no usage data. We may in future use analytics and diagnostics tools (such as Google Analytics for Firebase and the crash reporting built into the app stores) to understand how our Services are used and to fix problems. Where enabled, these tools may process technical information such as device or browser type, operating system version, app or page version, language and region, interactions, session length, approximate (coarse) region derived from your IP address, and error logs. This information is used in aggregate to improve the Services and is not used to identify you personally.
Device permissions we may request
Some of our apps ask your permission to use device features. You can grant or revoke these in your device settings at any time. We request only what a feature needs, such as the camera (to scan documents in apps that offer scanning), photos or files (to open, save or export items you choose), and notifications (to send reminders you have enabled).
Advertising
Our apps and websites do not show ads today. We may introduce ads in some of our apps or websites in the future through advertising networks such as Google AdMob. If we do, the ad provider may use a mobile advertising identifier to show and measure ads. On iOS, we will request your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking across other companies’ apps or websites. For any app directed to children, we will use non-personalized ads only. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings at any time.
Purchases
Some of our apps offer in-app purchases. These are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made, but we never receive or store your full payment card details.
2. How our apps and websites handle your data
Our apps and websites differ in what they do, but the same principles apply across all of them. Most of our apps are designed to work offline and keep your information on your device. Some apps offer optional sign-in or cloud backup, which you control and can turn off. Some apps offer in-app purchases, which are handled by the app stores. Our websites use only the minimal data needed to serve the pages. Where an app or website collects or shares anything beyond this, it is disclosed on the relevant app’s store listing (the Google Play Data safety section and Apple’s App Privacy labels) and in this policy.
3. How we use information, and our legal bases
- To provide, operate and maintain our apps and websites.
- To save and restore your progress or content where you enable a cloud or sign-in feature.
- To respond to your support requests and feedback.
- To process in-app purchases through the app stores.
- To diagnose problems, improve performance and understand which features are useful (where analytics is enabled).
- To keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.
For users in the EEA and the UK, our legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR are: consent (for optional features, and for analytics or ads where required), which you can withdraw at any time; performance of a contract (to provide a feature you request); legitimate interests (to secure, maintain and improve the Services); and legal obligation (to comply with applicable law).
4. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We disclose information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers / processors who help us run the Services, such as cloud hosting and database providers (for example Google Firebase and Cloudflare), analytics providers (if enabled), and advertising providers (if enabled). They may process data only on our instructions.
- App stores (Apple and Google) to deliver the apps and process purchases.
- Legal reasons, if required to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
- Business transfers, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change.
5. Third-party services
Depending on the app, website and feature, we may rely on the following third parties, each of which has its own privacy policy: Apple App Store, Google Play, Google Firebase (cloud storage, and, where enabled, analytics and crash reporting), Google AdMob (only if and when ads are enabled), and Cloudflare (website hosting and delivery). We encourage you to review their policies.
6. International data transfers
We are based in the United States and use cloud infrastructure providers (such as Cloudflare) to run the Services. Your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum.
7. Data retention
- On-device data stays until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
- Cloud data (only for apps where you enable sign-in or backup) is kept until you ask us to delete it, or until it is no longer needed for the feature.
- Support requests are kept only as long as needed to help you and keep reasonable records.
8. How to delete your data or account
- On-device data: delete individual records inside the app, or uninstall the app to remove all of its data from your device.
- Cloud data and accounts: for apps that offer optional sign-in or backup, you can request deletion of your account and its associated data at any time by emailing hello@simplyalgosllc.com. We will delete it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information to comply with law.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption of data in transit. Data kept on your device is protected by your device’s own security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where required by law.
10. Your privacy rights
Everyone
Whatever your location, you can contact us to ask about the information we hold and to request access, correction or deletion. To exercise any right, email hello@simplyalgosllc.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and we may need to verify your identity first.
EEA and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
California (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it; to request deletion and correction; and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information. You may use an authorized agent to submit requests, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Other United States states
If you live in a US state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and others now in effect), you have similar rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling.
Other regions
If you are in Canada, Brazil, Australia or another region with data-protection laws, you may have similar rights. Contact us and we will honour the rights that apply to you.
11. Cookies and tracking technologies
Our websites use only the minimal storage needed to serve the pages and remember your theme preference; they do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our apps do not use web cookies. Where our apps or websites detect a recognized opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) or “Do Not Track”, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of any sale or sharing.
12. Children’s privacy
Our games are family-friendly and are not designed to collect personal information from children. Consistent with the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Google Play Families Policy and Apple’s Kids guidelines, we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region) beyond what is needed to run the app on the device. Some of our apps are intended for a parent or guardian to record information about their own child; that information stays on the parent’s device and is not uploaded to us. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information and you would like it removed, contact us at hello@simplyalgosllc.com.
13. App-store disclosures
In addition to this policy, each app’s data practices are summarized in the Google Play Data safety section and Apple’s App Privacy labels on its store listing. Those disclosures reflect each app’s actual behaviour, and we keep them consistent with this policy.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and post the new version on this page. Significant changes may be highlighted in the app or on our websites.
